Life has many ways of presenting itself. It could be as simple as feeling a small breeze on a hot summer day. It could be a walk in the park and a cat decides to sit near by. It could be the smell of breakfast waking you from a deep restful sleep. Life is forever evolving and full of the unexpected. Plans may not work out like we want them to, but they do work out. It has taken me years to put the pieces of my life together, much of it is still fragmented. I finally released my audiobook for “Annihilator of Innocence”, but it was not easy for me. Hearing my own voice reliving the horrors took a lot out of me and sent me down those walls of doom once again.
Victims relive their horrors when there is a trigger. My body relives the blows that it received by causing me excruciating pain that I suffer through. I have to meditate and tell myself to heal. Triggers for me can be simply seeing someone who resembles the man that held my children and I hostage. Hearing certain sounds might be a trigger or smelling certain foods. Nightmares creep up on me that seems as real as the day I was taken.
Don’t take life for granted. Be realistic in your dreams and goals. So I’m telling the story so you’ll know that I am real and to make sure that you know that there are truly terrible people out there. Be aware, as I was blind to the enemy that stalked me. No, telling the story, is not a healing balm or anything like therapy. It always opens the wounds, but it is worth it to save a life.
