If you’ve worked in any business for a period of time, you realize that change happens. An employee might be sent to another area. An artist you depended on might not be available. The work place might be shut down for a season. There might be a reorganization of the company. Although this seems to be leading to a brick and mortar business, I am mostly focused on the film industry. When you’re working with a strong and dedicated team to produce your film project, the day will come when you will hear; “That’s a wrap!”
Everybody will pick up their gear and move on until the next project happens. It might be your desire to work with the same amazing group of people on your next project, but you know that some of them might be busy on another project. Some people just have a gift of bringing people together. But, even in the best of circumstances, getting a team of people can be challenging. How do you bring people together when you need to regroup?
1. Clarity – know what your goals are and be able to articulate them.
2. Be a team player – to get the best out of the people you’re going to work with. Remember this is going to be a team effort. Not a one man show.
3. Be respectful and listen to reason – remember that you hired these people for their ability to do their job.
4. Conflicts will happen – when there are any conflicts try to help clear the air as soon as possible.
This is the year 2020. Let’s work to help make dreams come true.
