In this month’s newsletter, we wanted to talk about a director’s relationship with his/her leading actors. As you know, the cast and crew of Darkness To Light Films, spoke for Birmingham Faith in Films Breakfast Club on June 4th. We had a full house and a very warm welcome from Barbara Fowler, who heads the breakfast club.
When we arrived at the venue, Tahiera had put up the displays and the powerpoint was looping, showing our cast hard at work on the production of, “The Prayer”. One of our parents brought one of our leading child actors, Carleigh Duckworth. Carleigh was interested in working with Tahiera since she was around one years old.
Carleigh did an outstanding job for it to be her first time on a set. She has a gift that can carry her far in the world of film or stage. Bobby Jo Jo White, came from Atlanta to join us. He portrays our nemesis in “The Prayer”. Chanel Fort, who started out with Tahiera in her production of the trailer for her Indiegogo Campaign, joined the cast as the female lead. It was a pleasure to interview our leading actors for our newsletter for this month.
It was important to Tahiera that her Director Bruce Nix, had a great meeting of the minds with his leading actors. She made sure that they had meetings to assure a great understanding of what was expected of them when the camera rolled. When the actors arrived on the set, they were expected to be ready to be the professionals that they professed to be. In this article, you will see the energy that comes to light when Bruce and his leading actors speak with each other.
We will be presenting more footage in our July newsletter and we will also be highlighting Nicole Allhouse of ABC 33/40 News.
