When you’re producing a film project, you probably think about the music as an enhancer. But, it’s more than that. It is, to me, it’s own voice. It helps tell the story and guide the emotion of your audience. If you see a film minus the music, it is a different experience all together.
When I write I always have music in my head that I’d like to hear. But, in the end, with my teams efforts we all decide on music that will really tell the story much better than what I had in my head. Watching the scenes played out live makes a whole lot of difference.
If you’re producing a film, make sure that you do due diligence to get the rights to the music that you use.
So the next time you watch a film, sit back and listen to the music.
